Diiringi kehangatan dari petikan gitar akustik, Taylor Swift bercerita tentang seorang kekasih yang menghadapi banyak kesulitan dalam hidupnya dan lewat lagu ini Taylor seakan mengingatkan sang kekasih untuk tidak pernah berpikir layaknya orang dewasa. Terdengar aneh memang mengingat seharusnya setiap orang seharusnya berpikiran dewasa agar kemudahan dapat datang menghampiri. Tapi, dengan pembwaan Taylor yang khas semua hal itu menjadi masuk akal. Dan juga sebenarnya cukup banyak nilai yang dapat kita petik dari lagu ini dan nilai-nilai itu sendiri seakan mengisahkan hidup dari sudut berbeda. Overall, 'Never Grow Up' cukup bagus dan kehangatan yang diberikannya seakan menjadi obat hati yang cukup mapuh dikala sedih menyapa kita...

Sedikit mengejutkan . Itulah reaksi pertama saya saat mendengarkan lagu ini. Taylor Swift disini terkesan sangat dewasa saat menyanyikan lagu yang berkisah tentang hubungan cinta beda usia ini. Dan siapa pun akan tahu betul untuk siapa lagu ini ditujukan. Lirik lagunya yang lugas pun membuat lagu ini semakin mature dan aransemen Country nya yang menghanyutkan akan menjadikan penghantar yang pas bagi lagu kelam yang menghanyutkan ini.
